Raman is widely regarded as the Pioneer and ‘Guru’ of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in India.  He has played a pivotal role over the last 16 years in promoting Indian BPO and proving that India can be a preferred location for Remote Processing. 

Over the years, he has successfully led the BPO initiatives of American Express, GE (now Genpact) and Spectramind (now Wipro BPO) before starting Quatrro in mid-2006.  Quatrro has successfully built businesses in analytics, risk management, legal, mortgage, finance and accounting.  Quatrro is now increasing its focus on knowledge-based services, with its acquisition of a significant majority in Scope e-Knowledge Center. 

As a tribute to his contribution to the BPO industry, he was awarded the Dataquest Pathbreaker Award in 2002 for directly creating 35,000+  jobs in India and indirectly enabling employment of over 415,000 people by creating the BPO industry. Raman, with a guiding philosophy of enhancing the success rate of early stage businesses, is a founding member of the ‘Band of Angels’, a group of investors who invest in early stage businesses.
